This truly scary movie has it all. - Signs Reviews
From the moment Signs begins, it grabs you into a movie that is exceptionally suspenseful and visually stunning. This truly scary movie has it all. The acting is suberb, the direction by Shyamalan is untouched, and this is one the years top 10 films. Graham Hess (Mel Gibson) lives on the farm with his brother Merrill (Joaquin Phoenix) and his children Morgan and Bo (Rory Culkin and Abigail Breslin). From the very first shot, there is an eerie, somethings not right feeling. Instead of special effects (though there are some), Shyamalan uses objects that are nothing out of the ordinary, but uses them in very smart and very original ways. Even the small characters (AKA - anchorman on the T.V.) have a sense of panic and tension in their voices. The music in the movie carries it well, and just hearing it gives you the chills. Everything about this movie works and it is destined to be classic movie, set in a category by itself.
